A key step in working with a firm such as Infotek is the agreement for representation. This agreement is most often for a particular position or client but can be more general. The agreement for representation is simply an agreement that only a particular firm will be allowed to submit your name for a particular position, client or period of time. It is increasingly a requirement of clients that a firm such as ours clearly establishes the right of representation before submitting a candidate.
For the candidate, it means that you must be prepared to quickly and formally commit to representation by only a single firm for specific positions or clients. Failure to do so will mean that you will not be submitted. Given that time from posting to submission is often measured in mere hours you need to respond quickly. Also, contrary to commonly held belief, being submitted by multiple vendors will NOT improve you chances — rather it will likely eliminate you from consideration as employers steer clear of potential disputes with suppliers.
